Mississippi State University has received approval from the Institutions of Higher Learning board to begin construction on an indoor football practice facility. The project, which will include renovations and additions to the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex, where the team is headquartered, features upgrades such as a new weight room, locker room renovations, additional offices, nutrition areas, and hydrotherapy areas.
While a budget has not been finalized, the university expects costs to exceed $3 million, with $500,000 already allocated for architectural and engineering fees. The timeline for the project has not been determined, but Mississippi State anticipates multiple phases over the course of several years.
The Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex, named after a former Mississippi State football player, was constructed in 2013. The Bulldogs, led by coach Jeff Lebby in his first season, have a record of 2-8 and will be playing their final home game of 2024 against Missouri at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday.
