Miami-based Lennar Corp. has announced its plans to acquire Fayetteville-based Rausch Coleman Homes in a deal expected to close in the first quarter of 2025. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Lennar stated that the acquisition is for Rausch Coleman’s homebuilding operations, which is on track to build around 5,000 homes in 2024 with an average sales price of $230,000.
Rausch Coleman is currently active in 16 metro areas across several states, including Arkansas, where they have developments in areas such as Fort Smith, Jonesboro, central Arkansas, and Northwest Arkansas. Their recent purchases of lots in Benton County and land in Prairie Grove demonstrate their commitment to expanding and developing new residential communities.
With this acquisition, Lennar will expand into new markets such as Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kansas, and Missouri, while also strengthening its presence in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Florida. The move is part of Lennar’s growth target for 2025 and will increase their community count and deliveries.
Lennar, the second largest home builder in the U.S. behind D.R. Horton, has had a successful year with over 73,000 home closings in 2023. Rausch Coleman, ranked as the nation’s 21st largest home builder by Builder magazine, had over 4,400 closings and $1.05 billion in revenue in the same year.
The CEO of Rausch Coleman, John Rausch, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that Lennar’s reputation and commitment to quality align with their own values. The move to acquire Rausch Coleman follows Lennar’s recent acquisition of Atlanta-based WCH Homes. As Lennar’s shares closed at $168.71 on Tuesday, up 79 cents, the company continues to make strategic moves to expand and strengthen its position in the homebuilding market.
