The Arkansas Association of Asian Businesses (AAAB) is currently accepting nominations for its inaugural Asian-Owned Business Award until November 22nd. The award aims to recognize the entrepreneurial excellence of Asian business owners in Arkansas and highlight their contribution to the state’s economic growth and diversity.
Founded in 2017, AAAB is a nonprofit organization with a mission to connect the Asian and Arkansas business communities. President Yang Luo-Branch stated that the award is a significant step in expanding the organization’s impact and recognizing the success and drive of Asian business owners in the state.
Nominations are open to all Asian-owned businesses in Arkansas, regardless of size, industry, or physical location. Criteria for the award include business innovation, growth, customer satisfaction, employee relations, honoring Asian heritage in the business, and community impact.
A judging committee comprising Arkansas business owners and professionals will select five finalists, with the winner chosen by the AAAB Board of Directors. The five finalists will be recognized at the East Meets West Lunar New Year luncheon on February 6 in Little Rock, where the winner and runners-up will also be announced.
Esperanza Massana Crane, director of small business and entrepreneurship development at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, emphasized the vital role that Asian-owned businesses play in strengthening the state’s economy. The award aims to celebrate their successes and create opportunities for further growth and collaboration within the community.
