Governor Sarah Sanders announced a series of new appointments on Wednesday, October 30th. Michael Lee from Conway has been appointed to the Arkansas Beef Council, replacing Chase Groves with a term set to expire on June 30, 2027. Michael Mayton from Little Rock will now serve as Chair of the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Commission, replacing Charlene Reed. Jay Coker from Stuttgart has been reappointed to the Arkansas Rice Research and Promotion Board, with a term expiring on June 30, 2026. Brent Summerhill from Bella Vista has also been reappointed to the Arkansas Tobacco Control Board, with a term set to expire on July 1, 2028.
Additionally, Glen Fritsche from Fort Smith has been appointed as a Special Commissioner on the Oil and Gas Commission to hear specific docket numbers. Caleb Wall from Bono has been appointed to the State Plant Board, replacing Matthew Marsh, with a term expiring on October 1, 2028. Lastly, Joseph Haller from Magazine will serve as the Justice of the Peace for District 8 on the Logan County Quorum Court, fulfilling the remaining term of Ronnie Scott until December 31, 2024.
These appointments were made in an effort to strengthen and diversify the representation on various important boards and commissions in the state of Arkansas.
