Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expects quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to return to play this season, despite suffering a concussion in September. Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve and must miss at least four games, with the earliest possible return date being on Oct. 27. He will need to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before being eligible to play. This concussion is at least the third of Tagovailoa’s professional career, with two occurring in the 2022 season. Miami has struggled offensively in Tagovailoa’s absence, with a 1-2 record and a significant drop in passing yards per game compared to last season. The Dolphins will face the Indianapolis Colts next on Oct. 20, and McDaniel is hopeful that Tagovailoa will be back in action before the end of the season. Tagovailoa’s health and progress will be closely monitored to ensure he is ready to return to the field when the time comes.
