Former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson were attacked while on a walk in Manhattan by individuals who had a previous interaction with the stepson. Paterson, 70, and his stepson both went to the hospital as a precaution after the attack in East Harlem. They both suffered injuries but were able to fight off their attackers. Paterson, who served as lieutenant governor and then governor after Eliot Spitzer’s resignation in 2008, did not seek reelection and served until 2010. A police report has been filed, and both Paterson and the other man involved are in stable condition. No arrests have been made in the attack, which is currently under investigation by the police.
