MC, a research consortium dedicated to advancing marine resource management, is excited to announce the addition of a new Science Policy Fellow to their team. The University of Southern Mississippi’s Marine Education Center (MEC) is home to this new fellow, who will bring their expertise in science policy to help MBRACE further their mission of promoting sustainable marine resource management.
The Science Policy Fellow will work closely with MBRACE researchers and stakeholders to develop and implement policies that support the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources. They will also collaborate with other organizations and government agencies to advocate for science-based decision-making in marine resource management.
“We are thrilled to have the Science Policy Fellow join our team,” said Dr. LaDon Swann, Director of MBRACE. “Their background in science policy will be invaluable as we work towards achieving our goals of promoting sustainable marine resource management through research, education, and outreach.”
The University of Southern Mississippi has a long history of conducting research in marine science and is a leader in the field of marine resource management. The addition of the Science Policy Fellow to MBRACE’s team further strengthens their ability to influence policy decisions that impact the health and sustainability of our oceans.
MBRACE is a collaboration of researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders working towards a common goal of promoting sustainable marine resource management. With the addition of the new Science Policy Fellow, they are better equipped to address the complex challenges facing our oceans and work towards solutions that benefit both marine ecosystems and coastal communities.
Overall, the addition of a Science Policy Fellow to MBRACE’s team is an exciting development that will help further their mission of promoting sustainable marine resource management through science-based decision-making and collaborative partnerships.
