After 40 years in Spanish-language journalism, longtime Univision anchor Jorge Ramos departs

Univision anchor Jorge Ramos is leaving the network after almost 40 years. The decision not to renew his contract was made mutually, and Ramos will continue to anchor ‘Noticiero Univision’ until December. He has been co-anchoring the news program since 1986 and also hosts ‘Al Punto’ and ‘America with Jorge Ramos’ on Fusion TV. Ramos is known for being a leading voice in Hispanic journalism, challenging politicians in the U.S. and Latin America. He has moderated numerous presidential debates and forums and has won 10 Emmy Awards. Ramos has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, which led to a confrontation where he was kicked out of a news conference by Trump in 2015. Ramos’ daughter, Paola Ramos, is a contributor at MSNBC. Fans of Ramos and Spanish-language journalism are eager to see what his next professional move will be after his time at Univision comes to an end.
