Chris Kiffin, the younger brother of Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin, is returning to the Rebels’ staff for a third time after a recent stint as linebackers coach for the Houston Texans. With 19 years of coaching experience, including seven in the NFL, Kiffin has a proven track record in the sport. This marks the fourth time the Kiffin brothers have worked together on a collegiate coaching staff, with Chris previously having roles at USC and FAU under Lane’s leadership.
Despite a previous stint at Ole Miss under Hugh Freeze, Kiffin’s tenure was marred by NCAA recruiting violations, to which he admitted guilt. However, he now joins a talented staff of analysts that includes former NFL coach Joe Judge and former Mississippi State coach Zach Arnett.
Lane Kiffin’s contract includes a provision requiring the Ole Miss Athletic Foundation to maintain a competitive salary pool for support staff, positioning the Rebels for continued success. As the team prepares for the 2024 season, Kiffin’s return adds experience and depth to the coaching ranks.
