Port Gibson native Tyrone Shorter, head coach of Louisville High School, has been chosen to coach in the Mississippi vs. Alabama All-Star Football Game as an assistant coach. Shorter, who has won three state championships at Louisville and four at Noxubee County, has an impressive coaching record of 164-38. He is coming off back-to-back state championship seasons in 2022 and 2023, with a perfect 15-0 record in the latter.
Shorter’s success on the field has earned him seven state championships, seven north state championships, and seven coach of the year awards. His coaching abilities have also been recognized at a national level, as he was selected to coach in the prestigious 2024 Under Armour All-American Game.
The Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Football Game, where Shorter will be coaching, will take place on Saturday, December 14 at Hancock Whitney Stadium at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. This selection is a testament to Shorter’s talent as a football coach and his ability to lead his team to success.
