A fire broke out on a Ferris wheel at a music festival in Leipzig, injuring at least 23 people. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the gondolas on the wheel catch fire and spin wildly with people inside. First responders and police officers were treated for smoke inhalation in the hospital, while some individuals sustained more serious burn injuries and falls. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by criminal investigators on the scene. The incident occurred at the Highfield Festival in Saxony, where around 30,000 attendees were present. Leipzig Police Department spokesperson, Josephin Sader, stated that the area of the fire has been blocked off as authorities work to determine the cause of the fires.
