Mississippi State and Southern Miss College Baseball Seasons End in Regional Round – SuperTalk Mississippi


Two Mississippi baseball teams, Mississippi State and Southern Miss, saw their seasons come to an end in the regional round of the College Baseball tournament. Mississippi State, the No. 7 seed, was eliminated after losing to VCU and Campbell in the Starkville Regional. Despite hosting the regional, the Bulldogs were unable to advance to the Super Regionals.

Southern Miss, on the other hand, had a tough loss to Ole Miss in the Oxford Regional. The Golden Eagles put up a good fight, but ultimately fell short in their quest to move on in the tournament. Both Mississippi State and Southern Miss had successful seasons overall, with Mississippi State finishing with a record of 45-17 and Southern Miss finishing at 40-21.

Mississippi State head coach Chris Lemonis praised his team’s effort throughout the season, despite the disappointing end. He highlighted the resilience and determination of the players, and expressed gratitude for the support of the fans throughout the season. Southern Miss head coach Scott Berry also commended his team for their hard work and dedication, and expressed pride in their accomplishments.

While both teams may be disappointed with how their seasons ended, they can both look back on successful campaigns with plenty of highlights. Mississippi State and Southern Miss have strong baseball programs and will no doubt be looking to build on their successes in the coming seasons. Fans of both teams can look forward to more exciting baseball action in the future.
