Gas Prices in Central Mississippi Below State Average – Kicks96news.com

Gas prices in Mississippi remain among the lowest in the country, with an average of $2.94 per gallon according to Gasbuddy.com. However, in Kosciusko, prices have been slightly higher at around $3.05 per gallon. In Carthage, prices ranged from $2.81 to $2.84 per gallon, with one station selling at $2.96. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, prices ranged from $2.87 to $2.99 per gallon, with one station selling at $3.24, making it one of the most expensive areas in the region.

Patrick DeHaan, Gasbuddy’s head of Petroleum Analysis, attributes Mississippi’s consistently low gas prices to its low gasoline taxes and proximity to refineries in Texas and Louisiana. He noted that Mississippi frequently has the lowest average gas prices in the country.

Overall, Mississippi continues to offer affordable gas prices for its residents compared to other states. While prices may vary slightly between different cities and stations, the state’s overall average remains competitive. As consumers continue to monitor gas prices, it is important to consider factors such as taxes and refinery proximity when understanding regional price variations.
