Fresh fireworks planned for the Mississippi River this year

WBRZ’s Fireworks on the Mississippi, the largest fireworks show in Louisiana, has been a long-standing tradition for over 50 years, bringing together the Baton Rouge community and neighboring parishes. This year, preparations for the event are different as the show will be using a digital system instead of a manual one. Lead technician Adam Siegal explains that this new system provides more control over the launch and timing of the fireworks, resulting in a better and more reliable event with less room for error. By eliminating the human factor on the scene, a team can create or review the show digitally on a computer.

Sponsor Spencer Calahan expresses his excitement to be a part of this tradition and looks forward to spending time with family, celebrating Independence Day, and wishing everyone a safe Fourth of July. For more information on the show and other Fourth of July events, visit the event’s website. The event promises to be a memorable and exciting celebration of Independence Day for the Baton Rouge community and surrounding areas.
