Hattiesburg, Mississippi – The unexpected death of University of Southern Mississippi football player Marcus Daniels Jr., 21, has left the community in shock. Daniels was found unresponsive in his vehicle at an off-campus apartment complex in Hattiesburg, prompting a police investigation into the fatal shooting.

Daniels, a talented defensive back, had transferred to Southern Mississippi from the University of Mississippi and had shown great promise on the field.
