Reese expressed his excitement for the opportunity to join the Mississippi State baseball team, citing the genuine connection he felt with the coaches during his visit. Coming from a small town like Canton, Reese felt that Starkville, where Mississippi State is located, reminded him of home. He appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and the strong community support for baseball in the town. Reese’s impressive stats as a high school and college player, including leading his teams in various offensive categories, demonstrate his talent and potential for success at the collegiate level.
As a freshman at Houston, Reese had a standout season, hitting .278 with multiple home runs and RBIs. In his senior year at Canton, he was named the Offensive Player of the Year by the Tyler Morning Telegraph for his outstanding performance on the field.
