McKenzie Long and Brian Williams, both recent Ole Miss seniors and standout track athletes, made their mark at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials with impressive performances. Long advanced to the 200-meter semifinal, showcasing her talent after a successful NCAA season where she swept the titles in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4×100-meter relay. Williams, a three-time All-American, secured his spot in the men’s discus final with a seventh-place finish in the qualifying round.

Despite not advancing in the men’s 110-meter hurdles semifinals, Ahmad Young Jr., another Ole Miss standout, put up a strong performance, finishing 20th. Anthony Camerieri also made a statement in the men’s 5K, finishing 12th overall in a competitive field.

Looking ahead, Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan is set to compete in the men’s hammer qualifying, while a group of Rebel women will take on the shot put qualifying rounds.

The U.S. Olympic Trials continue to be an exciting and competitive event, with Ole Miss athletes making their mark on the track and field events. The future looks bright for these talented athletes as they continue to pursue their Olympic dreams.
