Former NCAA national champion pitcher Nancy Evans has joined the Ole Miss softball coaching staff under head coach Jamie Trachsel. Evans, a six-time national champion, brings a wealth of experience to the team after successful coaching stints at UIC, DePaul University, and with various national teams.
Evans, who still holds the NCAA record for career winning percentage at .939, has an impressive resume as a player and coach. She has helped teams achieve success both domestically and internationally, most recently with the Italian National Team and Dutch National Team.
During her collegiate career at the University of Arizona, Evans was a two-time first-team All-American and a recipient of the Honda Sports Award for National Player of the Year. She also excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-America honors and being nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
Evans’ coaching career has been equally successful, with notable achievements at UIC and DePaul University. In addition to her coaching abilities, Evans was a standout player in the professional leagues, winning championships and earning All-Star honors.
Recognized as one of the best pitchers in collegiate softball history, Evans brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Ole Miss softball program. With her addition, the Rebels are looking to continue their success on the field and develop future softball stars under her guidance.
