Simone Biles has qualified for her third Olympic Games in Paris, joining Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera on the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics team. The team, which also includes four returning Tokyo Olympians, is the oldest and most decorated in U.S. women’s gymnastics history. Despite falls during the trials, the team was selected with Biles leading the all-around competition. The team also includes alternates Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong, with Rivera being seen as a potential contender for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The gymnasts are aiming for redemption in Paris after facing challenges at the Tokyo Olympics, with hopes of securing a team gold after finishing second to the Russian Olympic Committee in Tokyo. Rivera, the only teenager on the team, proved her ability to handle Olympic-level pressure with a standout routine on the balance beam. The trials also saw injuries to front-runners Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones, and Kayla DiCello, taking them out of contention for the Olympics. Biles and Lee excelled in the trials, with Biles leading the standings by a significant margin. The team is looking to showcase their skills and prove themselves as better athletes at the Paris Olympics.
