Flooding in neighboring town caused by high waters in the Mississippi River

Recent storms have led to flooding in the Village of Cassville, located on the Mississippi River in Wisconsin. The village ferry and boat launches have been shut down due to high water levels, prompting a state of emergency declaration. However, the village is prepared to handle the situation, with pumps in place and a 24-hour schedule for Public Works employees to monitor and prevent any damage. Village President Jared Kasten reassured residents that they have experience dealing with flooding and are ready to take action if necessary. Water levels are expected to continue rising slowly, with another 1/2″ rise predicted in the next week. Currently, the water level near Cassville is at 18″, above the flood stage of 16″. The village plans to monitor the situation day by day, with the ferry and boat launches remaining closed until water levels recede. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the situation by downloading the WMTV15 News app or the WMTV15 First Alert weather app.
