A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Northern California near Ohlone College in Fremont on Thursday morning at 9:35 a.m. PT. The tremor was felt in other parts of Alameda County, as well as in cities like Milpitas and San Jose. Despite this, no damage was reported as a result of the earthquake. The U.S. Geological Survey stated that there is not a specific magnitude threshold above which damage will occur, as this can depend on various factors such as the distance from the epicenter, the type of soil, and building construction. However, the USGS does say that it is unlikely for damage to occur unless the magnitude reaches at least 4 or 5. Earlier in the week, two minor earthquakes were recorded overnight in Huntington Park and Lake Pillsbury, California. Gabe Hauari from USA Today contributed to this report.
